We were extremely pleased with the level of support we received at this year’s golf day event, which once again took placeat Pedham Place Golf Centre. It was very well attended with a fantastic turnout of 15 teams of 4 players taking part.
The weather was much kinder to us than last year, staying dry all day despite rain having been forecast for the afternoon. The day started with tea, coffee and bacon rolls, followed by a round of 18 holes, and this year’s introduction of a shot gun start resulted in less waiting around for the teams.
All teams were back promptly in time for a 2 course meal in the evening, followed by a raffle and charity auction with some amazing prizes having been donated, including a week’s stay in a holiday cottage in Whitstable, sparkling afternoon teas and tickets to Charlton FC.
Huge thanks to Dave White and his staff at ITRM, a local IT Consultancy, as well as to our faithful friends Andy Reed and Andy Cunningham, for their help in organising the event and for collating and sponsoring teams and auction prizes.
We are also incredibly grateful to all who supported the event which raised just short of £4,000 for the Project. This money will go a long way to helping us continue to support the vulnerable young people of Bexley.
