Moorings Project

Bexley Moorings project has been supporting young people and families since 1981

At Bexley Moorings Project, we believe that getting the right support at the right time can make a real difference. We are committed to listening to, respecting, and empowering children, young people, and parents, ensuring that their voices shape the support they receive.

We know that life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and that emotional wellbeing and mental health challenges can affect the whole family. Through early intervention and community-based support, we help children and young people build resilience, develop confidence, strengthen positive relationships, and navigate life’s ups and downs before challenges become more significant.

Our approach is person-centred and flexible. We take the time to understand what matters most to each child or young person and work alongside them to identify the support that best meets their needs. Whether through one-to-one support, group programmes, digital resources, or connecting them with local community services and activities, we focus on building strengths and promoting long-term wellbeing.

We work collaboratively with families, schools, health services, and voluntary and community organisations across Bexley to create a network of support around each child and young person. By working together, we aim to ensure that children, young people, and their families can access help early, within their own communities, and in ways that are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to their individual needs.

At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to helping children and young people feel heard, connected, and empowered to thrive in their everyday lives.
